The SSAT Aspirant Headteachers programme provides high-quality preparation for headship, equipping school leaders with practical strategies and training for both current and future roles.
Aspiring headteachers will join a national cohort and access the latest thinking about leadership and teaching. They will also develop the skills and competencies required to obtain their first headship and make is a success.
The programme consists of 10 course modules covering the key areas for the national standards for headteachers. Each module will be hosted virtually by one of the SSAT education team and include inputs from successful headteachers from across SSAT’s national network. As part of the programme participants will be expected to apply their learning and produce a short case study of practice. The programme concludes with a celebration event and opportunities for sharing practice across the cohort.
The programme includes supporting resources, reading and diagnostic tools accessed via a dedicated online platform.
