The New Headteachers programme is for newly appointed headteachers and those in their first year in post. Starting your first headship is an exciting time and this programme will help you successfully make the transition as you begin the work of leading the school.
Participants will receive 1:1 coaching/mentoring support* and join a national cohort for practical virtual workshops and inputs from successful headteachers across the SSAT network. Each workshop will cover a key aspect of school leadership and provide opportunities for sharing practice, strategy and challenges in a supportive environment. Content draws upon the national standards for headteachers and SSAT’s Framework for Exceptional Education.
There are eight workshop sessions which will take place virtually as Tuesday twilights, from 3.45pm -5.45pm, meaning you can be in school when you need to be.
The programme includes supporting resources, case studies and diagnostic tools accessed via a dedicated online platform.
*Participants will be matched to a suitable coach or mentor and will be able to flexibly arrange online meetings to meet their needs. Three hours of coaching/mentoring are included in the programme.
