Successful Primary School Leadership

To mark the publication of SSAT’s latest pamphlet “Successful Primary School Leadership”, author and Head of the Primary Network Laura Burton will be in conversation with Director Angelina Idun.

Teachers and leaders from primary member schools are invited to join us for this webinar in which Laura will:

  • Talk about her inspiration for the pamphlet
  • Reflect upon core themes that emerged from the insights and experiences of primary leaders across the network and share examples of the excellent practice which provided the stimulus and framework for the paper
  • Introduce primary leaders who participated in the project to share their view of what constitutes successful primary school leadership

Members who join our launch event will have the opportunity to ask Laura and the guest speakers questions, as well as and also joining the wider conversation by sharing their views of leadership within a primary setting.

Laura joined SSAT in 2019 as a Senior Education Lead for the Primary Network. She has worked in a diverse range of primary schools as a senior leader and has also worked for her local authority. Laura is passionate about enabling meaningful collaboration to share best practice and empowering schools to refine their practice.

Angelina Idun, Director, SSAT

Alex Galvin, SSAT

Previously Acting Principal at Ark Evelyn Grace Academy, Angelina joined SSAT as Director of School Improvement in 2017. Her school leadership career has been largely focused on south London schools in diverse, vibrant yet challenging communities. Angelina is driven by an unwavering belief in the difference a high-quality learning experience can and must make to the life chances of young people.
