West Sussex Deputy Headteachers Network (WSDN) is a group of deputy headteachers or aspiring deputy headteachers who work in secondary schools across West Sussex. They collaborate formally to continually develop the quality of education of the young people in their care.
SSAT works closely with the WSDN to help shape the thinking and content of the network’s activities, and to support the project management and logistical arrangements for the group.

WSDN Annual Conference 2018
2018 marks the 8th WSDN annual conference. This will again be held at the Hilton Avisford Park Hotel, Arundel on Friday 9 November.
The theme of this years’ conference is Developing leaders in our schools. Keynote speakers from a range of backgrounds and sectors will lead the conversation.
We are excited to introduce Penny Mallory as our headline speaker. Penny is one of the world’s most successful female rally drivers and the first woman to compete in a world rally car. She joins us to share her unique and inspirational story.
Penny will be joined by Hannah Wilson, Executive Headteacher of Aureus School and Aureus Primary School, part of the GLF schools trust. Hannah also co-founded a grassroots gender equality movement, is National Leader for #WomenEd and is a DfE coach for the Women Leading in Education initiative. She will join us to talk about ‘Vision-led leadership’, finding your fit, leadership career pathways and creating a values led leadership culture. You can read more about Hannah’s values and vision on her blog The Hopeful HT, and follow her on Twitter @TheHopefulHT.
