iNet leadership programmes support schools in creating the next generation of excellent leaders and teachers. They are designed and delivered by leading headteachers and practitioners because we believe that the best people to lead system redesign are those working and leading in schools.

Wherever you are on your professional and school journey, you will find support and inspiration to take you to the next level. We are passionate about supporting and equipping school leaders at every stage in their career to ensure that high quality leadership and teaching enables all schools and students to be successful. Please see below for our current range of leadership programmes we currently offer in Wales:

Developing Leaders for Tomorrow
The Developing Leaders for Tomorrow programme is a high impact two-year programme designed for teachers with the potential to lead practice and those new to their first leadership role. The Developing leaders programme responds to the changing needs of schools. It focuses on a broad range of leadership skills that will support the personalising learning agenda and national and regional priorities for schools in Wales.

The programme provides an opportunity to engage in school-based action research and puts theory into practice. The combination of face-to-face national and regional events and the online professional development journey via the Lead Practitioner membership site enables participants to engage in a global exchange of practice. It also provides opportunities to learn from a range of successful and internationally renowned school leaders and educational thinkers who are working alongside iNet to shape the 21st century educational landscape and provide the next generation of school leaders and lead practitioners.

Aspiring Senior Leaders
The iNet Wales Aspiring Senior Leaders programme is aimed at middle leaders who are aspiring to move into the senior leadership team or to take on whole school leadership roles. The programme develops leadership skills and generates a portfolio of relevant leadership experience. Schools of the future need leaders who can make the shift from translating whole school policies into practice and this programme gives participants the skills and confidence to create and lead new school improvement strategies that can transform learning across the curriculum.

Through a combination of regional and national events, participants will explore the latest educational developments and priorities for schools in Wales and beyond and gain the skills, confidence and experience to lead whole-school improvement strategies and mentor other middle leaders in their schools.

Leading Excellence in Schools
This one-year programme is aimed at new and aspiring headteachers and will take delegates to schools in the iNet Wales network, demonstrating excellent practice in various aspects of their leadership and provision. The programme allows delegates to explore how some of the country’s leading schools work in practice, both strategically and operationally and asks the following questions: How did they achieve success in the journey towards excellence? How is this success maintained? What next? How do you move beyond excellent practice in some/all aspects of leadership and provision to become a world-class school?

The six modules of the programme will consider key areas of school improvement and transformation and provide opportunities to discuss key themes in the current educational landscape in Wales and beyond.

Currently recruiting for Cohort 1, launching January 2014.
