What people are saying about SSAT

Engaging with the Framework for Exceptional Education (FfEE) Accreditation – a rigorous self-review and planning framework developed by the SSAT alongside a pilot group of Leading Edge schools – has been a highly beneficial process. Over the last four to five years, our work within this framework has been formally recognised, allowing us not only to showcase the amazing practice taking place across our school, but also to collaborate with and learn from others through invaluable peer review work.

What people are saying about student leadership

The School Recognition Scheme has been invaluable to our Academy, offering a meaningful opportunity to showcase how student leadership is embedded across our school and to have this recognised at the highest level. It has enabled me to reflect on our strengths and the wide range of ways we support students in developing their leadership skills, while also identifying clear next steps to further enhance our practice with the benefit of expert guidance.
Millie Campbell, Lead Teacher for Student Leadership, Ormiston Meridian

What people are saying about student leadership

Going through the School Recognition Scheme process proved invaluable for us; shining a light on what we were doing well – giving us confidence in these areas – whilst at the same time, enabling us to view all our practice with a critical eye and suggesting strategies we could use to further strengthen our student leadership programme. In addition to this, SSAT delivered student leadership workshops to all year groups, including pupils from our feeder primaries, which further inspired our students. Without doubt, taking part in SSAT’s School Recognition Scheme has been illuminating and encouraging for both students and staff

What people are saying about student leadership

The recognition framework has enabled us to move from viewing leadership as something held by a small group of students to something that is developed across the whole school. Through a structured leadership curriculum and targeted staff CPD, we have embedded opportunities for students to practise leadership within everyday learning, ensuring it is accessible to all. Crucially, our student leaders now understand that their role is not only to lead, but to create opportunities for others to do the same. As a result, we are seeing students become more reflective, more confident, and more willing to take initiative; often in ways they would not previously have recognised as leadership. It has been genuinely inspiring to work alongside them and see this shift in how they view themselves and their potential.
Marie Dryden, Assistant Headteacher at Dyatmika School

What people are saying about coaching

The reason we chose SSAT, in particular, is due to the fact that we had conversations with the presenter and established what would support us best, for our context and our stage in the journey. The bespoke element of the training session on coaching had the desired impact as it had been fully adapted to our school’s needs. I would highly recommend the course to any school, even if they are at a different stage in their journey, given the tailored element.
Assistant Principal, Goffs Academy

What people are saying about delivery partnership

SSAT have been hugely influential in the development of The Trust over a number of years. Our relationship has been deep and bespoke, this has enabled us to shape the CPD and support services to really meet our needs. As long-term delivery partners for the full range of programmes, we have found them to be incredibly impactful in building leadership retention, development and capacity. I cannot speak highly enough of the team and services they provide; I would recommend them to anyone.

What people are saying about Lead Practitioner

If you’re a teacher passionate about collaboration and leadership, I highly recommend becoming an SSAT Lead Practitioner. It’s an incredible opportunity to grow professionally, support others, and make a difference beyond your department.
Head of Faculty, Harris Academy Bermondsey

What people are saying about Lead Practitioner

I am sad to say that I have observed instances where staff have been promoted into roles without adequate training, resulting in a lack of clear understanding of the responsibilities involved. This programme has been the most effective training I have undertaken in preparing me for leadership and the transformation of departments. Investing well in training for leaders helps drive improvement!
Sophie Roberts, Leader of SEND & Inclusion

What people are saying about student leadership

I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for delivering such an engaging and insightful Student Leadership training session for our prefects this month. Your expertise, enthusiasm, and ability to inspire were truly appreciated, and the students gained so much from the experience. It was wonderful to see them so engaged and motivated, and I am confident that the skills and knowledge they’ve taken away will have a lasting impact on their leadership journey here at Harris and beyond.
Shivon Allicock, Harris Academy Morden

(I enjoyed) having uninterrupted time to think about, engage in and revisit teaching and learning strategies while being introduced to TEEP. This feels like some of the most successful training I have had for some time.

What people are saying about Lead Practitioner

Thank you so much for this news and the wonderful [Lead Practitioner Accreditation] feedback – this has absolutely made my day, week, month! I’m so glad it was clear how passionate I am about this role and so grateful to you all for supporting me on this journey to accreditation.

What people are saying about our inspection audit tool

We have found the Readiness for Ofsted Audit Tool to be a very helpful and practical resource. It has given us a clear structure to review our current provision and identify next steps with confidence. The tool has supported focused professional discussion within our leadership team and helped ensure we have a shared understanding of expectations. What stands out is how accessible and purposeful it is. It supports strategic thinking and meaningful school improvement rather than simply focusing on compliance. In a busy school environment, having something that is both thorough and straightforward to use makes a real difference. I would recommend the tool to other schools who want to strengthen their readiness and approach inspection with clarity and confidence.
James Searjeant, Headteacher, Wyborne Primary and Nursery School

What people are saying about student leadership

SSAT planned and delivered an outstanding Trust Student Leadership Conference for 100 students aged 9–18 from across our four schools. The conference was carefully structured around the IMPACT model of student leadership, providing students with a clear, inspiring framework that was both accessible and challenging for a wide age range. A highly effective mixture of whole-cohort and smaller group sessions was used, with a strong emphasis on vertical groupings that encouraged collaboration between students of different ages and schools. This approach helped build relationships, confidence and a genuine sense of shared leadership across the Trust. The sessions were expertly tailored to our Trust’s context, vision and values, ensuring the learning felt relevant and meaningful. The facilitators were fantastic — highly knowledgeable, engaging and skilled at building rapport quickly. They created an inclusive and energising environment where students felt confident to contribute, collaborate and lead. The impact on our students’ confidence, understanding of leadership and sense of shared purpose across the Trust was clear, and we would highly recommend SSAT as a training provider.

What people are saying about student leadership

We hosted SSAT’s student leadership IMPACT training with Keven, and it was clear that the programme was both highly efficient and well organised. The student booklets and activities were thoughtfully planned to meet the needs of our Academy and student body. Keven was professional, engaging, and delivered the content with a strong data-driven approach that helped contextualise the training for our students. I would definitely invite them back to deliver again.

What people are saying about student leadership

In assembly we always talk about what it means to be a successful leader. There are so many different ways to be a leader and make a difference at CNR. Even though I am not a School Council member this year, I am working towards my Gold Award as a wellbeing ambassador as I am really passionate about mental health. Doing the Pupil Leadership Award allows all pupils to make a difference. I encouraged my friends to be pupil leaders too because doing this award will help them to become an amazing leader.
