Leading Change Issue 3 – April 2012
Issue 03 of the Leading Change journal explores the developmental journey of Leading Edge schools, unveiling the pivotal role of both landmarks and stepping stones. Senior teams reveal that success often stems from smaller, targeted stepping stones rather than grand initiatives. The journal emphasises the significance of a shared learning language cultivated through a consistent vision and targeted CPD programs.
Many schools, aiming for excellence, view a comprehensive lesson plan for every class as their next stepping stone, fostering collaboration among teachers. The issue underscores the importance of reducing isolation, increasing shared practices, and the annual Achievement Show as a platform for schools to exchange next and best practices. David Douglass encourages schools to engage in a collective learning experience, making the Leading Edge network a powerful force with over 300 participating schools.
The journal delves into the challenge of capturing school practices, categorising them as Developing, Transformational, or in the DNA of the school. It invites schools to reflect on their shared sense of DNA, potential transformational ideas, and the value of small yet impactful changes. The issue covers diverse topics from literacy and sixth form achievements to computer science and the digital schoolhouse, offering valuable insights to the Leading Edge community.
Staff members located in Leading Edge Network schools have access to this Journal as a membership benefit.
