RACE Beacon of Excellence Status
Beacon of Excellence status was introduced in 2025 and is also available to those organisations who consecutively maintain the Gold standard of the RACE Charter Mark. Each school is committed to strengthening a collaborative network, creating space to share effective practice and support ongoing learning about race, equity, and inclusion. In doing so, schools play an active role in challenging systemic inequalities and building inclusive environments within their own settings and across the wider community.
Schools who have recently successfully achieved this status:
- The first Primary school (March 2025): Grinling Gibbons Primary School BoE award
- The first Secondary school (March 2025): Mulberry Academy Shoreditch
- The Stockwood Park Academy (July 2025)
RACE Charter Mark Lead Practitioner accreditation
SSAT and Figtree International are delighted to offer a special Lead Practitioner accreditation opportunity, designed for colleagues working in roles as equality, diversity and inclusion coordinators or those leading aspects of this work in your school.
The accreditation is open to any teacher, support staff or leader who has in any way contributed to the work around EDI in their school. The programme enables participants to further develop the skills, knowledge and understanding as they drive forward this crucially important aspect of education. Importantly, accreditation will be largely based on work that has already been carried out by those leading aspects of EDI, with this work accounting for up to 70% of the portfolio.
To express your interest and receive further information, including the RACE LP mapping document, please complete this short form.
Not yet ready for accreditation? SSAT can conduct a Race and Equalities Audit to help you gain deeper understanding of your school community and the next steps you can take together.
SSAT is proud to be working in partnership with Fig Tree International to deliver the RACE Charter Mark.
