Primary School leaders continually seek to make a difference for every child. Those leading our schools in the current educational landscape are facing considerable challenge, often resulting from wider systemic issues. The volume of challenge and change creates barriers as we strive to focus on doing what is right for our children.

This year’s SSAT Primary Network Conference will provide an opportunity for leaders to come together to re-connect with their moral purpose and consider the significant impact principled leadership has in their schools, as well as hearing perspectives from other leaders across the SSAT network. Through a blend of keynote presentations and breakout discussions, leaders will be able to consider and discuss key themes in relation to their own experiences as well as having time and space to explore the importance of wellbeing and resilience for courageous leadership.

Leaders will be re-energised and return to school empowered and strengthened to lead and make decisions from a principled perspective. Leaders will be inspired and reminded of the truly transformational impact their principled leadership has on their team, pupils and communities.

Adaptive teaching – what are we adapting to, and why?

It seems that everyone is talking about adaptive teaching at the moment. With inclusion at the heart of the new Ofsted framework and the emphasis on ‘inclusive mainstream’, it is not surprising that there is a lot of discussion about how we might meet the varying needs of learners. However, does adaptive teaching offer fresh insights into this challenge or a repositioning of previous thinking?
