Leading Change Issue 7 – Autumn 2013

By SSAT Leading Edge
Publication Date: 2013

Issue 07 of the Leading Change journal welcomes readers to a new school year. The issue explores the innovative approach of Ringwood School in personalising KS4 learning through a flexible Year 9 curriculum. Retaining a three-year KS4, the school allows students to experience a tailored curriculum in Year 9, making provisional choices before finalising options. The curriculum emphasises diverse subjects, including humanities, creative, and technology subjects, enabling students to explore, specialise, and make informed choices for their GCSEs in Years 10 and 11. The article discusses the benefits of this approach, maintaining a balance between personalisation and curriculum breadth.

The journal covers diverse topics from independent learning, innovative ideas for transition, peer assessment, bring your own device and passion for Geography.

Staff members located in Leading Edge Network schools have access to this Journal as a membership benefit.
