Host: Mary-Anne Metcalfe, The Oaks Secondary School

Over a period of 6 months a group of female year 8 and 9 students attended monthly science technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) interventions. The group was selected based on their individual mental health needs, such as high anxiety and low self-confidence. The aim of this study was to identify the impact of gender-specific speakers and science outreach on the cohort’s mental wellbeing, quality of learning, and awareness of STEM careers. In this webinar I will discuss the strategies that were used and how you can implement them in your schools.
