Regular, informal assessment boosts students’ progress by two months

Friday 13 July 2018 – the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) release evaluation reports which show Embedding Formative Assessment (EFA) increases students’ progress by two additional months over a school year. SSAT and the EEF ran the randomised controlled trial from September 2015 – July 2017, supporting year 10 students through to year 11. 130 English schools and 25,000 students took part. Corinne Settle, education lead at SSAT, talks about the importance of personalisation and support for impact of the programme.
