Fresh ideas for ambitious schools
SSAT’s Secondary Network is the most vibrant and longest-standing network of schools in the UK. With 30 years of experience, our mission is to create opportunities for schools to collaborate and share knowledge, inspiration and best practice.
Central to the network are the forward-looking teachers and leaders who are helping to shape the national conversation as new policies, structures and social pressures present fresh challenges and opportunities every day. SSAT supports schools in interpreting and making these opportunities work in their setting.
Through SSAT Secondary Membership, we work closely with schools to enhance the impact teachers have in nurturing successful young people and building stronger communities, developing fresh ideas for ambitious schools.
Join the network and get connected with like-minded schools, receive weekly insight by email, discover data tools, policy resources and CPD discounts, take up your place at the next annual SSAT National Conference, and much more.
Our range of secondary membership benefits will ensure your school is outward-facing, help your school’s voice be heard and demonstrate your commitment to educational excellence. They include:
I saw this and thought of you!
Your relationship manager – an SSAT adviser assigned to your school – listens to your priorities and ensures you are accessing the right information and insights to drive your school forward. Connecting you with schools in the network who share your challenges and pointing you to relevant CPD, research and conversations, helping you explore new angles and solutions.
Collaboration with purpose
Share your achievements, contact like-minded schools, get your nagging questions answered by your peers across the country and receive resources that other schools are using (policy documents, curriculum timetables and much more). Join topic-focused collaboration groups including our online communities and email forums.
The Framework for Exceptional Education (FfEE) is SSAT’s flagship school improvement framework. It is at the heart of many of our programmes and has been co-developed with SSAT member schools. The framework is built on the philosophy that school improvement is an ongoing process that is centred on self evaluation and celebration of strengths. You can use FfEE to evaluate your practice, identify improvements you want to make and celebrate the great work you are already doing. It can be used at whole school level and also with specific departments / teams. The framework and supporting guidance is available for all members to download from the Exchange area of our website.
Networking – on your doorstep
Learn from other schools’ innovative approaches and share best practice through a range of opportunities of local, national and international contexts.
SSAT’s unique performance analysis tool, combining three official DfE and Ofsted sources into one database, provides key contextual and performance data on every state-funded school in the country, exclusively for our members. Benchmark your school’s progress against others locally and nationally and help your SLT and data manager identify weaknesses in data and action solutions. Gain recognition through the Educational Outcomes Awards celebration with the opportunity to reflect on positive outcomes and promote your school to a wider audience.
Empower your students with our Student Leadership Accreditation scheme – available to all members – which supports your students in social, personal and employability skills as well as academic achievements.
