SSAT offers full in-school support and consultancy in best practice for school improvement, identifying areas that may require focus and prioritisation. Solutions include:
Subject or theme reviews
SSAT reviews the leadership and performance of a subject area or an area of your school’s work in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning and student achievement.
Support for self-evaluation
SSAT works alongside your school’s senior and middle leaders to evaluate the accuracy of your current self-evaluation. This can include leadership and management, teaching and assessment, behaviour and safety, and outcomes. We will work with you according to your requirements. SSAT tests out your judgements by working with you, observing lessons and questioning key staff and students.
Multi-academy trust support programme
SSAT reviews performance over a range of indicators and identifies common strengths and areas for improvement. This is followed up by a range of appropriate development activity at whole-school and subject/area-level.
Senior leaders find the support and guidance we provide invaluable and praise the rigour and insight gained from the experience. The process confirms what they believe to be good practice and also identifies areas of the school’s work which were not as well-established as initially thought.
All our consultants are highly experienced senior leaders and advisers with expertise in primary, secondary, post-16 and special education. Most consultants have either current or recent Ofsted training.
