By SSAT
Publication Date: 2022

In the Spring 2022 edition of the SSAT Journal, several articles highlight the efforts of different schools in promoting exceptional education and implementing 21st-century skills across their curriculum. The journal begins with a welcome message from Sue Williamson, the Chief Executive of SSAT, expressing appreciation for the dedication and resilience of school leaders and staff in the face of challenging times.

The first article features St John the Baptist School in Woking, which has been accredited as “transforming” in all 12 strands of the SSAT Framework for Exceptional Education, highlighting their commitment to quality learning experiences and continuous improvement.

Paula Ayto from Reid Street Primary School discusses their journey towards building ‘The Reid Street Way’, focusing on empathy, aspiration, and a culture of curiosity and creativity to empower students and make a positive impact on the community.

Saiqua Zaneb from Central Foundation Girls’ School shares the school’s journey of embedding 21st-century skills across the curriculum to empower its students to become confident communicators, critical thinkers, and adaptable problem solvers. The school emphasises the importance of creating a common framework to develop transferrable skills among staff and students.

The journal also delves into essential themes like giving voice to students of colour, embedding support for PLAC and SGO pupils and pastoral leadership.

The SSAT Journal is a benefit available to all staff members located in SSAT member schools.
